Brittney (certified dog trainer) was born an animal lover that always had a special gift communicating with animals of all sizes. A love for dogs was nurtured through my Aunt and Uncle where I spent many weekends walking and training their dogs. A passion for the outdoors was discovered at the age of 3 when I was introduced to all different kinds of fishing. A natural talent quickly developed into spending every possible hour in the wilderness until I was 13. At the age of 13, I discovered a passion for horses and quickly built my life around riding and giving misunderstood horses a second chance.

In 2013, I rescued an eight week old Miniature Pinscher that I named Lexy. Lexy was a very nervous, insecure dog that would go into blind panics on a regular basis. I was introduced to a Certified Dog Trainer Program with Canine Academy where I furthered Lexy's formal obedience training and obtained our certifications. When I moved out of my childhood home, Lexy was always happier staying with my parents in the home she was brought up in; as a result, she lives with my parents full time.
In the spring of 2018, I adopted a mixed breed puppy that I named Oxford. Oxford presented me with many challenges, including fear aggression. Oxford was a phenomenal family, farm dog and service dog that accompanied me nearly everywhere I went. Unfortunately, in 2023 Oxford unexpectedly passed away.
On August 24, 2024, I adopted Clark.
I completed my Dog Training Certification in 2017 through Canine Academy. I have experience with behaviour modification training, dog walking and animal ownership. I started Tails On Trails in early 2021 and feel truly blessed to do what I love for a career. It is thanks to Oxford and Lexy, that I have devoted my life to offering these services.
